dc.description.abstract Quantitative researches on coastal sedimentation in the west coast of Korea virtually began in the 1990s, particularly from the sediment dynamical viewpoint. A rather simple task aboard of casting current meters and collecting water samples gave rise to deployments of a sophisticated gadget of high-tech instruments. This self-contained monitoring system, which was domestically developed early in the 2000s (KORDI, 2005), has been actively used in geological investigations into various environments such as estuary, bay, tidal flats, beach, and inner-shelf. gave rise to deployments of a sophisticated gadget of high-tech instruments.
