Abstract
Recently Ulva pertusa has attracted attention as a resource of pharmaceuticals and feed industrials due to contain large amounts of organic components and important bioactivities. However, U. pertusa often experience a variety of stressful environmental conditions. Therefore, it is important to know the ecological significance and biochemical composition if they are to be used to applicate the industrial productions. According to nitrogen (N) and carbon (C) concentrations, protein and lipid increased during the winter– spring period and decreased in the summer– autumn period except carbohydrate. Kinds of amino acids such as aspartic acid, glutamic acid and lucine of amino acids displayed significant seasonal variation (p < 0.05) and these components had strong positive correlations with N and C (p < 0.05). The essential amino acid (EAAs) concentrations were increased in summer-autumn season. The carbohydrate of U. pertusa is mainly composed of rhamnose and glucose, and did not display a significant seasonal variation. Rhamnose showed high levels in autumn and spring, and glucose showed high levels in summer and winter as to negative correlation (p < 0.001).environmental conditions.
