Abstract
- The system applied hydrographic survey for correct the sea level, also determine the tidal datum around Yellow and East China Seas. Also numerical simulation during construction process of Saemangeum dike was carried out using a high-resolution Regional Ocean Tide Simulator. This model studied the impacts of large coastaldevelopments, specifically long tidal dikes, on the tide, tidal current and sedimentation regimes of the Yellow Sea shelf. Also the physical parameters, bottom stress and tidal energy dissipation, were derived from tide and tidal current to estimate the sedimentary environment in this region. After the construction of the dikes the sedimentary environment was altered by reducing the bottom shear stress and tidal current.
