Abstract
Korea Operational Oceanographic System (KOOS) produces various ocean forecast data thatenables fast and accurate countermeasures to such events and in this study, KOOS SAR predictionsystem that predicts the missing people trajectory. KOOS SAR prediction system is mainlycomposed of the Lagrangian particle-tracking model, external forcing input from an operationalforecasting system (which produces the predicted fields of winds and surface currents).Actually the motivation of this study is the KCG helicopter crashed into the sea near by theGageo Island and the Dolgorae fishing boat capsized near by the Chooja Island. So, for validationof particle tracking model of KOOS, we conducted the drift buoy experiment at near above accidentpoint from June to December 2015.OS SAR prediction system is mainlycomposed of the Lagrangian particle-tracking model, external forcing input from an operationalforecasting system (which produces the predicted fields of winds and surface currents).Actually the motivation of this study is the KCG helicopter crashed into the sea near by theGageo Island and the Dolgorae fishing boat capsized near by the Chooja Island.
