dc.description.abstract The second Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI-II) which is an ocean monitoring sensor on GEOKOMPSAT-2B scheduled to be launched in 2019, is needed new ground segment for its data acquiring, processing, storing, distributing. The GOCI-II Ground Segment (G2GS) is designed to meet user requirements such as speed, accuracy, efficiency. G2GS has several functional subsystems like data acquisition subsystem (DAS), data correction subsystem (DCS), precision correction subsystem (PCS), data processing subsystem (DPS), data management subsystem (DMS), operation & quality management subsystem (OQMS). This system uses incremental iterative development methodology with component-based development (CBD) in order to reduce developing time, reduce errors. The system internal/external system interface was determined. Functionalities of the subsystems and design of infrastructure were also derived under preliminary design level. But data format of GOCI-II isn’t fixed yet. For the next step, we will design the system more deeply like components, database structure and will develop the ocean color products testbed program as a prototype of GOCI-II data processing system.
