dc.description.abstract In a wireless network, the transmission time of a packet is determined by the transmission rate of the packet. A long transmission time of the packet increases the probability of a packet collision, and thus the overall network performance is reduced. Therefore, this paper presents an optimal transmission rate control scheme to minimize the probability of a packet collision in wireless networks. We have carried out simulations to verify the performance of the proposed transmission rate control scheme.is reduced.
