dc.description.abstract Marine-derived microorganisms, especially marine fungi, are an interesting source for marine natural product researches. Fungi from marine environment are being developed as a source for drug leads to combat diverse diseases and infections. Especially, species of Aspergillus have been received significant attention since they produce unexpected and unusual chemical compounds with notable biological activities such as antibacterial, antifungal, antitumor, antiviral activities. The strain 01NT 1.1.5 was isolated from a marine sponge collected in Vietnam and identified as Aspergillus sp. From this strain, four compounds, asterriquinone B1, C1, demethylated asterriquinone C1 and terrequinone A were isolated from the EtOAc extract. Their structures were determined by MS and 2D NMR data analyses.
