Abstract
Coral reefs composed of scleractinian corals in tropical regions are threatened by the global marine environmental changes, such as seawater temperature rise and ocean acidification. Genome information of a scleractinian coral, Acropora digitifera has reported. On the other hand, soft coral communities in temperate and subtropical regions composed of octocorallian species seemed to widen their distribution. To understand their molecular mechanisms underlying biological aspects in soft coral species, the genome of Dendronephthya gigantea approximately 280 Mb was sequenced and assembled. The genome contains about 26,700 gene models. The transcriptomes between planula larvae and colony stages were analyzed. The functional aspects of the differentially expressed genes will be discussed.itifera has reported.
