dc.description.abstract | The East China Sea (ECS) is passage connect Pacific with sea area near Korean peninsula, flow in fresh water and terrigenous sediments through Changjiang river of China. Especially, Changjiang Diluted Water (CDW) is formed by fresh water of Changjiang river and sea water of the ECS and influenced into the East/Japan Sea include Jeju Island during summer season. The purpose of this study is to trace CDW and analysis spatial displacement of CDW’s distribution during summer season from 2009 to 2016. In this study, we used surface salinity and velocity data of Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model (HYCOM). The ocean color data, MODIS-Aqua, used for understand spatial change of CDW. This study performed particle tracking to find trajectory of low-salinity water using daily surface velocity, which started near the Changjiang mouth with low salinity boundary under 31 psu. To calculating the spatial and temporal variations of CDW, we simulated the particle tracking with daily surface salinity and compared with ocean color data. The displacement of CDW is affected by amount of Changjiang River Discharge (CRD), wind direction on the ECS. The particle tracking and ocean color data greatly increases of understand the spatial and temporal variations for determining CDW pathway and its influence.
