Abstract
The more precise wave prediction or forecasting information will be used widely in many marine areas such coastal disaster prevention, coastal construction, navigation, aqua-farming, leisure and so on. For instance, during the typhoon periods depending on the typhoon path the ships in the harbor can be seriously damaged. To avoid ship damages one possible way is to move safer place but it also asks certain amount costs. However, the difficult part is it’s not really easy find proper information that tells about degree of risk you are going to face it.
Spectral wave model, for example, SWAN, has been used in various research groups, since it is relatively easy to handle. However, wave diffraction by SWAN cannot be simulated reasonably, especially near harbor, and converged numerical solutions cannot be obtained in particular cases of wave diffraction (The SWAN team, 2016). In addition, spectral wave model cannot consider wave-current interaction problems such as rip current simulation and inundation problems by wave run-up without combining other models.ds depending on the typhoon path the ships in the harbor can be seriously damaged.
