dc.description.abstract This new stalked barnacle, Neolepas marisindica, is morphologically distinct from the Pacific dwelling N. zevinae and N. rapanuii and was recently classified as follows: Arthropoda Crustacea Hexanauplia Scalpellomorpha Eolepadidae Neolepas. The neolepas genus has been discovered for decades, but these had no transcriptome information. We sequenced the transcriptome assembly of N. marisindica from individuals collected at a depth of 2022 m off the Onnuri Vent Field on the Central Indian Ridge by the research vessel ISABU (RV ISABU). The transcriptome was sequenced using the Illumina HiSeq X System. De novo assembly and analysis of coding regions predicted 26,201 coding sequences. The reference assembly of Neolepas maricindica will be a valuable resource to study the ecological characteristics of this species in the hydrothermal vent. Environmental function gene study of hydrothermal vent animals could be the key of metabolism of living, usedto explain the features of hydrothermal vent with genes function analysis and used as the information about host and symbiont coadaptation and evolutionary process. -
