dc.description.abstract | RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) was carried out to generate functional gene in a soft coral species, Dendronephthya gigantea. Total of 122 MB was read and 437,569 bases were obtained. The sequencing of D. gignatea generated 33,401 contigs with anaverage size of 535 bp. BLAST sequence similarity searching assigned putative function to 33% of the data set, with a significant proportion of these transcripts being involved in signal transduction mechanism and posttranslational modification as defined by KOG molecular function and biological process classifications. The database will be used for various analyses of biological responses at transcript level in D. gigantea to environmental changes including climate changes,ocean acidification, and anthropogenic pollution. | - |
