dc.description.abstract A coastal circulation forecasting system has been established by MOHID model for the regional seas around Korea. The grid of system consists of a 1/6º grid for L1, 1/12º for L2 , 1/36º for L3 and 1/180º for L4 and the ocean state 3D fields provided by HYCOM, the main idea in this methodology is to use a downscaling approach coming from the large scale circulation to the regional and local scale. The output of WRF model is used in the meteorological forcing and the output of NAO.99jb is used in tidal open boundary condition. In addition waves and flash water discharge are considered in this system. This system is validated with observation data every day and evaluated with view point of operational service. The oil spill and SAR(search and rescue) on the prediction with MOHID module will be also tested and presented at the Workshop. -
