Abstract
The development of data processing software for geostationary ocean color imager (GOCI) was started simultaneously with the development of sensor because this sensor is unique on geostationary orbit and the algorithms for it should be developed considering to specific observing condition. The GOCI data processing system (GDPS) has been improved its functionality and operability by upgrading the verified algorithms, integrating new algorithms, optimizing batch processing scheme and updating its graphic user interfaces. And then GDPS version 1.0 was released at September 2011. Now GDPS version 1.1 is preparing with more level 2 products and user friendly data processing interface and will be released in the first half of this year. The GOCI has high temporal resolution and spacial resolution, so the data amount will be huge like 1GB for level 1B. Korea Ocean Satellite Center (KOSC) developed GOCI Data Distribution System(GDDS) to distribute the satellite data and the browsing image. GDDS is composed of web-based individual data distribution service, ftp-based organization data distribution service and media delivery service for special request. KOSC has opened a website (http://kosc.kordi.re.kr) and this website has distributed GOCI data since April 2011 restrictively. Several level 2 data (Chl, TSS, CDOM, Lw, nLw) was available from 01 September 2011. The GOCI data on website is orthographiceveloped considering to specific observing condition.
