Marine Ecosystem Research Center해양생태연구센터

The Marine Ecosystem Research Center(MERC) investigates biodiversity, food web structure and ecological functions in pelagic and benthic environments in seas adjacent to the Korean Peninsula and in the open oceans. The core objective of the MERC is to better understand the marine ecosystem in itself as well as ecosystem responses to environmental changes such as climate change for the sustainable use and preservation of our ocean.

해양 생태연구센터는 주변해 및 대양의 수층과 저서 환경의 생물 다양성, 먹이망 구조, 생태적 기능을 연구하고 있다. 이들 연구를 통해 해양 환경 변화에 따른 생태계 변동성을 더 잘 이해하고 해양의 지속가능한 이용과 보전을 위한 생물 해양학적 기반을 구축하고자 한다.
